Internet Security

Browser Security
For your protection, Central State Bank's internet banking system transmits data using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology which supports 128-bit key encryption. This represents one of the highest industry standards for online security.

It is important to verify that a secure connection between your browser and the Internet banking server has been established before transmitting any confidential account information over the Internet. This can be verified by an indicator on your web browser. At the time of this writing, Netscape Navigator has a key symbol which appears in the lower left hand corner of the screen. When the symbol appears "solid," transmitted data is being encrypted. When this symbol appears "broken," a secure session has not been established. Similarly, at the time of this writing, Microsoft Internet Explorer has a lock symbol which appears when data is being encrypted. When this symbol does not appear, a session is not secure.

Host Security
The Central State Bank web server does not connect directly to the Internet. It is buffered from the Internet through the use of a firewall. All access from outside of the bank must go through this firewall which screens the requests and allows only valid hypertext transfer protocol (http) traffic to reach the server. Central State Bank's Internet banking service makes use of an ISCA-certified firewall.

Passwords
All Central State Bank online banking transactions or inquiries must be initiated by use of your Central State Bank online banking personal identification number (hereinafter referred to as the "PIN"). We will assign a PIN to you only after we have accepted your application for the establishment of Online Banking or Commercial Cash Management ("CMM") service. The first time you sign on to Online Banking or CMM, you will be required to select a new PIN. You may change your PIN from time to time, as provided for as one of the functions of our Online Banking and CMM services.

It is highly recommended that you do not use your Social Security number, telephone number birthdays, names, or other codes that may be easy for others to determine as your PIN. No bank employee will ever ask for your PIN, and you should never provide it to anyone unless you intend to allow that person access to your accounts. Pursuant to the terms and conditions of service, as expressed in our Online Access Agreement, you agree to keep your PIN confidential, and use of your PIN by you or by any other person with your authorization will be considered the same as your written signature authorizing us to complete any transaction or request communicated through the use of our Online Banking or CMM service.

For Online Banking services other than CMM, if you authorize another person to use your PIN, you should be aware that the person can use the service to view any information or initiate any transaction on any of the accounts to the same extent as you, including viewing information or initiating transactions on accounts to which that person does not otherwise have access. Consequently, the sharing of your PIN is strongly discouraged by the bank, and done at your sole risk and peril. If a third party should gain access to your PIN, you alone are responsible for changing the PIN so as to deny the third party's access to your banking information. Given the electronic nature of these transactions, the bank shall have no liability to you in the event a third party should gain access to your PIN through no fault of the bank. For CMM services, the same general disclaimers and precautionary measures apply, although the latitude exists for CMM administrators to limit and otherwise restrict the type, nature and scope of account access, viewing and transaction capabilities for specific subordinate users.

You should always exit the Online Banking and CMM systems immediately after you finish viewing your accounts or transacting business. Never leave your computer unattended while accessing the Online Banking or CMM system. If you do so, a third party may be able to access your accounts from your terminal without ever needing to use your PIN, may view confidential information, or may otherwise be placed in a position to breach the confidentiality of your data.

As is the case with PIN access codes for all of our electronic banking services (for example, ATM cards, debit cards and Central TeleBank), we highly recommend that you never write down your PIN for the Online Banking or CMM services, or to leave your PIN in a place where it might be discovered by another party.

If you have reason to believe that your PIN has been discovered by or is known by an unauthorized party, you should immediately change your PIN via our online banking system. As an alternative, during our regular banking hours, you can contact us at (563) 263-3131 or (800) 292-1234 and ask for one of our Online Banking Representatives for assistance.

Consolidation & Aggregation Services
Central State Bank does not recommend the sharing of your PIN or other personal information with a third party for the purpose of establishing or supporting the use of account consolidation and aggregation services. Extreme caution should be exercised if one chooses to utilize such a service, and it should be understood that doing so is solely at the user's own risk.
